Local services
A referral earns its reward after the paid job.
Give neighborhood recommendations a documented purchase path. Quotes, appointment requests and bookings are useful activity—but they are not commission events.
Start with the people
Who could you invite?
Invite satisfied customers, complementary local providers and neighborhood contacts. Make sure any professional or industry restrictions permit the referral relationship before offering rewards.
Offer ideas to adapt
- A stated customer benefit on a qualifying completed service.
- A fixed reward after a minimum paid eligible amount.
- A limited location/service-area offer with clear exclusions.

Make the numbers explicit
Illustrative: an eligible paid service amount is $150 after the benefit, excluding taxes and tips. At 5%, the reward is $7.50. A quote for the same amount earns nothing until paid evidence is recorded.

A realistic workflow for local services
- 1
Define the completed service and paid amount that qualify.
- 2
Agree on truthful promotion and disclose the reward relationship.
- 3
Customer presents an offer pass or uses the configured referral path.
- 4
Take payment through your usual method and record a paid claim or authorized manual sale.
- 5
Finance reviews evidence, then commissions follow the hold and approval process.
The operational details matter
Appointments are not purchases
Do not promise payment for leads or attendance alone. When payment happens later, record the actual paid date and reference. A canceled booking without returned money should not be described as a completed purchase refund.
Use your existing payment method
Invoice payments and bank transfers can be entered or imported by authorized finance users as merchant-confirmed. This is manual evidence, not a native bank or POS connection. Reconcile payments before rewarding.
Professional rules still apply
Referral restrictions differ by service and location. The software cannot decide whether a particular professional referral fee is lawful. Review your service terms and get advice where needed.
Questions for your business
Can we reward an appointment request?
No. This release rewards eligible paid purchases, not appointments or leads.
Can we record a paid invoice?
Yes, through authorized manual/CSV records or supported server reporting, with accurate payment evidence.
