Retail shops

Reward a recommendation, not just a shop visit.

Connect local sharing to eligible paid baskets. Keep excluded items, return handling and the customer benefit clear at the shelf and the counter.

Start with the people

Who could you invite?

Invite loyal shoppers, local stylists, hobby groups and creators with relevant interests. Give them approved material and a link rather than asking them to make unsupported product claims.

Offer ideas to adapt

  • A qualifying basket benefit with excluded products listed.
  • A fixed reward above a minimum eligible spend.
  • A launch-window offer at selected locations, with a capped budget.

Make the numbers explicit

Illustrative: a qualifying basket has $80 eligible spend after discount. A 5% reward is $4. A later half refund of eligible items reduces the corresponding reward; final handling follows verified refund evidence.

A realistic workflow for retail shops

  1. 1

Identify eligible products and excluded lines before writing the offer.

  2. 2

Set the benefit, partner reward, location schedule and caps.

  3. 3

Approve sharing partners and publish the offer separately from its draft.

  4. 4

At payment, staff apply the benefit manually and submit the eligible purchase.

  5. 5

Finance verifies the record and reconciles subsequent returns.

The operational details matter

Returned items need a matching record

Retail return policies and platform commission holds are different. Explain how full or partial customer refunds affect rewards. If a reward was already paid, the history records recovery rather than silently deleting earnings.

Keep staff and product rules aligned

Staff should know whether sale items, gift cards or special orders qualify under your own terms. Avoid asking the platform to infer item eligibility from a scan. Use a paid reference and receipt to support the claim.

Online and counter are distinct paths

A shop with an online checkout can use configured tracking as well as local claims. The workspace can contain both channels, but customer identity is not automatically matched across them.

Questions for your business

Does every item qualify automatically?

No. Your offer must define eligible items, and the reported eligible amount must respect those rules.

Will a return remove the original history?

No. Refund adjustments and any recovery preserve an auditable history.
